We offer active and creative educational programs for all ages.
Children in Pre-kindergarten – 4th Grade
The Sunday School begins at 10:15, after the Time With The Children in the 10:00 worship service. Children stay in their classroom until service is over, around 11:00, where they can be picked up by a parent or authorized adult. (Summer schedule varies)
Bible stories and various lessons are taught through drama, art, music……….
Youth in 5th & 6th Grade – Class
Classes are from 10:15 to 11:00. 5th & 6th graders engage biblical lessons and faith stories by doing group projects such as performing puppet shows about Daniel and the Lion’s Den or re-enacting “An Underground Railroad Experience” for the church school children.
Helping Hands Fellowship – meets monthly for fun fellowship and hands-on service projects in the community.
Youth in 7th & 8th Grade – Confirmation
Confirmation at NECC provides a comprehensive faith journey. 7th & 8th graders can expect a variety of opportunities to explore faith through class discussions, service projects, church visits, fun fellowship outings, retreats, interfaith interactions, and more. Confirmation meets most Sundays after church at Chestnut House from 10:15 to 11:05 a.m.. 7th or 8th graders not seeking a formal “Rite of Confirmation” are welcome to participate fully in this program. We have youth group fellowship after church from 11:05 to 1:00 p.m. on the second Sunday’s of the month.
Youth in 9th – 12th Grade – Fellowship
The senior high fellowship offers continued faith formation with fun activities, church leadership opportunities, and lots of service projects in the Aurora area and a Summer Work Tour to far away places such as West Virginia, Memphis, St. Louis, and Washington D.C..
There are intermittent opportunities for adult education. Watch for announcements about study topics and leaders.
