Scouts Troop #3
Scouts Troop #3, affectionately known as the Bob’s Hill Troop, has been an important part of the New England Congregational Church community for more than a century.
Since its organization in 1910, the troop has been continuously chartered by the church, making it one of the longest-standing youth programs in our congregation and a proud tradition that has helped generations of young people develop character, leadership, and a spirit of service.
Today, Troop #3 is a thriving and active organization with a roster of more than 55 Scouts supported by over 50 dedicated adult leaders. The troop provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where young people can build confidence, learn practical skills, develop leadership abilities, and form lasting friendships.
The troop meets regularly on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the church’s Scout Room. In addition to weekly meetings, Scouts participate in monthly camping trips, outdoor adventures, service projects, merit badge programs, leadership development opportunities, and special small-group activities throughout the year. These experiences encourage teamwork, responsibility, self-reliance, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Through the guidance of experienced leaders and the support of families and the church community, Troop #3 helps young people grow into responsible citizens and leaders while embracing the values and principles of the Scouting program.
New members and families interested in learning more about Scouting opportunities are encouraged to connect with the troop and discover all that the Bob’s Hill Troop has to offer.
